Celestro Films
This project was a freelance commission to design and animate the logo for an independent film studio, Celestro Films. The animated sequence is intended to serve as the studio’s signature intro, similar in purpose to the iconic openings from studios like Lionsgate or 20th Century Fox. It will play before each of their produced films.
Logo Sequence
The studio’s founder, Will Brady, envisioned a logo that felt memorable, elegant, and simple, with a typographic style that was both angular and nostalgic. Based on that creative direction, I developed a visual identity that captures the VHS-era aesthetic of the late 1990s and early 2000s, while incorporating a modern twist.
Refined Iterations
The typography is paired with light sweeps and Venetian blind-style transitions to evoke the tactile feel of analog media. I used trim paths and subtle chromatic aberration effects to add motion and texture. The overall animation was influenced in part by Adam Grabowski’s logo work for A24 Films.
